Basketball Recap: Buffalo's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Buffalo can now relate to. They lost 59-35 to the Logan Wildcats on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bison have suffered since February 12, 2024.

Despite the defeat, Buffalo had strong showings from Brooke Woods, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 13 points and five boards, and Ivy Higginbotham, who posted eight points. The dominant performance gave Higginbotham a new career-high in points.

The loss snapped Buffalo's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-6 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points over those games. As for Logan, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6.

Buffalo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Logan, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-35 defeat against Charleston Catholic on the 11th.
