Basketball Recap: Wildwood Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Wildwood extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Nolan Mawhinney. The Wildwood Warriors skirted past the Pleasantville Greyhounds 65-62 with plenty of help from Mawhinney, who to rack up 19 points along with eight boards and five assists. What's more, he also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2023.

Wildwood is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points over those games. Pleasantville has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Wildwood and Pleasantville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. Wildwood (ranked 364th) will meet Pitman (ranked 128th) at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Pleasantville will square off against Middle Township on Thursday down 267 places (301 vs. 34).
