Softball Game Preview: Glades Central Raiders vs. Royal Palm Beach Wildcats

Glades Central is 0-6 against Royal Palm Beach since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Glades Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Glades Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Pahokee two weeks ago. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Raiders with their most commanding win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Ana Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. She also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Estrella Tovar, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Glades Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Royal Palm Beach came up short against Leonard on Wednesday and fell 13-10. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Royal Palm Beach's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Glades Central, their record is now 3-5.

Glades Central suffered a grim 24-9 defeat to Royal Palm Beach when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
