Preview: Carmel Corsairs vs. Benet Academy Redwings
Carmel is 1-9 against Benet Academy since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Carmel Corsairs will be playing at home against the Benet Academy Redwings at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Carmel fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Niles Notre Dame on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Dons 44-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Carmel has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Benet Academy faced Thornton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Benet Academy fell 63-54 to Thornton on Saturday. It was the first time this season that Benet Academy let down their fans at home.
Carmel are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15. As for Benet Academy, their defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3.
