Paxton is a perfect 10-0 against Malone since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Paxton Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Malone Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Paxton will be strutting in after a win while Malone will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, Paxton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Florida Baptist Academy 6-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

The team relied heavily on Case Moore, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Cade Stewart, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Malone came up short against Wakulla Christian School on Monday, falling 18-7. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Kris Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Paxton's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Malone, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went Paxton's way against Malone in their previous meeting back in May of 2019, as Paxton made off with a 12-0 victory. Does Paxton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Malone turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
