Basketball Recap: Abernathy Now 15-2 over Last 17 Games

Abernathy had won three straight home games and Mecailin Marshall did her part to make it four on Friday. Everything went the Abernathy Antelopes' way against the New Deal Lions as the Abernathy Antelopes made off with a 62-40 victory thanks in part to Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Abernathy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Miller, who posted seven points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Abernathy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for New Deal, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ralls the next time they take the court. New Deal will host Ralls at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Abernathy will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th.
