Volleyball Game Preview: Monticello Buckaroo vs. Monument Valley Cougars

Monticello is a perfect 10-0 against Monument Valley since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Buckaroo will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Monticello is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Friday, Monticello got the win against Rock Point by a conclusive 3-0.

Monticello never let Rock Point on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-14, 26-24.

Monticello relied on the efforts of Annaleigh Nebeker, who had five digs and three aces, and Madie Adair, who had eight digs. That's the most digs Adair has posted over her last two matches.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Monday. Monument Valley had just enough and edged out Rock Point 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Monument Valley has posted since September 27, 2024.

Monument Valley took Rock Point into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 22-25, 15-13.

Monticello's record now sits at 9-5. As for Monument Valley, their record is now 13-7-1.

Monticello beat Monument Valley 3-1 in their previous meeting back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buckaroo since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
