Basketball Recap: High Point Central's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

High Point Central entered their contest against Southwest Guilford on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The High Point Central Bison took a hard 67-48 fall against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bison came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Cowboys are ranked 253rd).

High Point Central's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-1. As for Southwest Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.

High Point Central will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northeast Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Southwest Guilford, they will take on Davie in a tournament on December 27th.
