Game recap: Cabell Midland High School Football Team defeats Wilson

ONA, W. Va. - A big 28-point second quarter helped carry the Knights to a 42-0 victory over Wilson (Beckley, W. Va.) on Saturday.

Cabell Midland scored on a Teran Barnitz touchdown run, a touchdown run by Derrick Adkins, a Coy Pettit touchdown pass to Tanner Chapman and an Alex Childers touchdown run in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a Kasey Thomas touchdown run in the first quarter, CM was up 35-0 at the half.

The Ona school expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. The Knights' lone score in the quarter came on a Pettit touchdown run.

Pettit played well for Cabell Midland in the victory. The junior quarterback. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

CM had given up an average of 11.8 points prior to the contest. The zero points that the Flying Eagles ended with were well below their average of 29.8 coming into the game.



A 70-34 Cabell Midland victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The loss comes after Wilson defeated Riverside 50-10 last week.

Cabell Midland (5-1) will play a Mountain State game against Capital next week, while Wilson (2-3) will take on Parkersburg also in a Mountain State game.
