Volleyball Recap: Eastport-South Manor Falls to Smithtown West in First Game of Season

Eastport-South Manor had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Smithtown West, falling 3-0. The Sharks have struggled against Smithtown West recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-21, 25-16.

Smithtown West can attribute much of their success to Nicole Zarcone, who had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Zarcone has posted since back in October of 2024.

The win (which was Smithtown West's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Eastport-South Manor and Smithtown West will both be playing Hauppauge the next time they take the court. Smithtown West will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Sharks will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
