Soccer Game Preview: Montclair vs. Sunny Hills

The Montclair Cavaliers will face off against the Sunny Hills Lancers at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Montclair comes in on three and Sunny Hills on seven.

Montclair is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand The Palmdale Aerospace Academy a 2-0 shutout. Give the Cavaliers' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Sunny Hills made easy work of Norte Vista on Saturday and carried off a 4-1 win. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 59th, while the Braves are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montclair pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Sunny Hills, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
