Rancho has won three straight games at home, while Durango has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Rams will welcome the Trailblazers at 3:30 p.m. Rancho has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Rancho managed to slip by Centennial the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 15-5 to the Bulldogs on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Rancho saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Ramos, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, while Durango put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cimarron-Memorial. The Trailblazers were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Spartans. The result was nothing new for the Trailblazers, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Aiden Farrell and Kysyn Kauahipaula made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Farrell didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Kauahipaula pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Farrell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Farrell went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double, while Kauahipaula got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Jayden Shuford was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rocco Germano, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Durango was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive matchups.
Durango has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.
Rancho might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Durango in their previous meeting on Monday. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
