Volleyball Recap: Pueblo Centennial Comes Up Short

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Pueblo Centennial had to take the L. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vista Ridge Wolves on Saturday. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

While Pueblo Centennial was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23.

Emilylynn Gallegos paced Pueblo Centennial's offense, picking up four kills. Gallegos got some help from Sierra Montoya and her ten assists. Samantha Salvador controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Vista Ridge found their leader in sophomore Toryn Dempsey, who had 16 digs. Dempsey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 15 or more in each of the last 19 games she's played.

Pueblo Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Vista Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-15.

Pueblo Centennial has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln on the 1st. As for Vista Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Riverdale Ridge on the 1st.
