Basketball Recap: Chandler Prep Falls to Heritage Academy in First Game of Season

Chandler Prep had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 37-29 to the Heritage Academy Heroes on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 50-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Chandler Prep lost, don't look at Grant Hopper. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards. Toby Land was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Heritage Academy now has a winning record of 2-1.

Chandler Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scottsdale Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Heritage Academy, they will take on Arete Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
