Baseball Recap: Saegertown Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Saegertown had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cambridge Springs Devils with a sharp 15-0 win. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Devils, too.

William Shaffer was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Blake Burchill was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Saegertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in five consecutive games.

Saegertown's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. As for Cambridge Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Saegertown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against General McLane on the 18th. As for Cambridge Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Lakeview on the 16th.
