Basketball Recap: Aubrie Bolanos' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Goddard over Portales

After flying high against Santa Teresa last Saturday, Goddard came back down to earth. The Goddard Rockets took a hard 54-40 fall against the Portales Rams on Friday. The Rockets have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Goddard lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aubrie Bolanos, who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points and seven boards. Jazmin De Leon was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 12 points.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Portales, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Goddard will host Lovington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Portales, they will head out to take on Artesia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
