Basketball Game Preview: Whitefield Academy WolfPack vs. Wesleyan Wolves

Whitefield Academy is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Wesleyan is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Whitefield Academy WolfPack will welcome the Wesleyan Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Whitefield Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.

Whitefield Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Francis just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by the Knights 84-47. The WolfPack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-13.

Despite the defeat, Whitefield Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Hailey Houlder went 7 for 16 en route to 18 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Houlder is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 22 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emahni Chambliss, who posted 19 points.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan beat Fellowship Christian 44-33 on Thursday.

Wesleyan is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.3 points. As for Whitefield Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
