Softball Game Preview: North Arlington Vikings vs. Teaneck Highwaymen

The North Arlington Vikings will take on the Teaneck Highwaymen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Arlington will be strutting in after a win while Teaneck will be coming in after a defeat.

North Arlington took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Harrison as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Blue Tide: they've now won five in a row.

Jacklyn Burbach was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, North Arlington let Isabella Buccheri and Kyra Garcia run wild. Another player making a difference was Cadence Mansfield, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Teaneck fell victim to Pascack Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 15-0. The Highwaymen have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Teaneck's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for North Arlington, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
