Baseball Recap: Noblesville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Noblesville can now relate to. They fell just short of the Zionsville Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Millers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Joe Glander was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Noblesville's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Zionsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Noblesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Zionsville, they will face off against Fishers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
