Woodgrove and Heritage are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Woodgrove Wolverines will square off against the Heritage Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Woodgrove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Loudoun Valley as Woodgrove made off with a 60-35 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Meanwhile, Heritage waltzed into their game on Tuesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They breezed past the Captains to the tune of 67-37. Given the Pride's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd in Virginia, while the Captains are ranked 165th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage's win came from a few key players Woodgrove will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Julia Ehrmantrout, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on her way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave her a new career-high. Kaitlyn Puzinski was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Heritage was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They are 20-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Woodgrove pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points over those games. As for Heritage, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.

Woodgrove didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Heritage in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-37 victory. Will Woodgrove repeat their success, or does Heritage have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
