Soccer Game Preview: Scripps Ranch vs. Hilltop

The Scripps Ranch Falcons will take on the Hilltop Lancers in a tournament on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Scripps Ranch duked it out withOlympian on Thursday. Scripps Ranch never let Olympian onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. Josh Bottomley had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Falcons.

Meanwhile, Hilltop's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They blew past Rancho Bernardo 6-2. That four goal margin sets a new team best for the Lancers this season.

Scripps Ranch now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hilltop, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Everything went Scripps Ranch's way against Hilltop in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, as Scripps Ranch made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Scripps Ranch since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
