Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Sun Academy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matches, Our Lady of the Sun Academy finally came back down to earth on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Academy with Community Partners Lions, falling 71-19. The game marked the Angels' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Our Lady of the Sun Academy still got an impressive performance from Joseph Gilmor, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and four steals. Gilmor is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. Joseph Reiss was another key player, putting up two points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

The defeat snapped Our Lady of the Sun Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record. As for Academy with Community Partners, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy will face off against Jefferson Prep at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of the Sun Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Academy with Community Partners, they will challenge American Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
