Baseball Recap: Richmond Heights Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Richmond Heights's offense. They came up short against the Harding Skippers on Tuesday, falling 30-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Spartans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Richmond Heights saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Rice, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Richmond Heights and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Harding, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

Looking ahead, Harding will square off against Pymatuning Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Skippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lakers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. Richmond Heights will be paying especially close attention to Harding's matchup: after Harding faces off against Pymatuning Valley, they'll take on Richmond Heights again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
