Overton stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by New Summerfield on the road to the tune of 66-27. With that win, Overton brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.
Overton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Still, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Still is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Hawkins, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Douglass posted their biggest win since November 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past Carlisle 63-39. Given Douglass' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Carlisle is ranked 1048th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Overton's win bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Douglass, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.
