Basketball Game Preview: LaGrange Academy vs. Southern Christian Patriots

LaGrange Academy will face off against the Southern Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on LaGrange Academy, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, LaGrange Academy beat St. Mary's Academy 58-46.

Southern Christian kicked off their season on the road last Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by Lakeside School and fell 60-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since January 25th.

LaGrange Academy will have to keep a close watch on Jedd Scott and Gabriel Decker, a pair of players who had a big impact on Southern Christian's prior game. Scott went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points, while Decker posted eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Decker has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played.

LaGrange Academy's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2. As for Southern Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

LaGrange Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Southern Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory.
