Softball Recap: Hackley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Horace Mann on Monday, Hackley came back down to earth. The Hornets fell just short of Bay Ridge Prep by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Aria Servedio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ellie Firsenbaum was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Hackley has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Bay Ridge Prep, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

As of now, neither Hackley nor Bay Ridge Prep have any future games scheduled.
