Softball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss

Wakefield was the 11-1 winner over George C. Marshall when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell 8-4 to the Statesmen on Friday.

Kira Zoeller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Wakefield has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for George C. Marshall, their record is now 6-7.

Looking ahead, Wakefield will welcome Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for George C. Marshall, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-4 win against Wakefield School on the 25th.
