Basketball Game Preview: South Point Red Raiders vs. Crest Chargers

South Point hasn't had much luck against Crest recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The South Point Red Raiders will look to defend their home court against the Crest Chargers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in South Point's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

Last Friday, South Point ended up a good deal behind Huss and lost 83-65. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Huskies are ranked 66th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crest). They blew past Stuart W. Cramer 84-61 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Chargers who have now won five contests in a row.

Crest pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points over those games. As for South Point, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
