Softball Game Preview: Green Sea Floyds Trojans vs. South Columbus Stallions

The Green Sea Floyds Trojans will take on the South Columbus Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. South Columbus took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Green Sea Floyds, who comes in off a win.

Green Sea Floyds will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Lake View, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Trojans came out on top against the Wild Gators by a score of 5-1 on Thursday.

Maci Collins made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Blair Elliott was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. BF Holmes also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for South Columbus' offense. They lost 10-0 to Heide Trask on Thursday. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Green Sea Floyds' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for South Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
