Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Hilton Head Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Wilson Hall Barons, falling 45-22. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2017.

Despite the defeat, Hilton Head Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Sissy Thompson posted eight points and eight rebounds. Thompson is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Caitlyn Jackson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Even though they lost, Hilton Head Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Hilton Head Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wilson Hall, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12.

Hilton Head Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-13 defeat against Heathwood Hall Episcopal on the 18th. Wilson Hall has also already played their next match (against John Paul II), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
