Clovis West took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Centennial, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Clovis West Golden Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Centennial Golden Hawks 3-2. This was payback for the Golden Eagles, who suffered a 10-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Alexis Busch was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Clovis West's victory bumped their record up to 3-0-1. As for Centennial, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Coming up, Clovis West will take on Linden in a tournament on Saturday. As for Centennial, they are taking a road trip to challenge Edison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
