East Limestone has gone 7-1 against Elkmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Red Devils at 10:00 a.m. East Limestone is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
While East Limestone's victory against Ardmore wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Tigers 6-4. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won three games in a row.
Will Starr looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Chris Fitts, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Brantly Stinson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Elkmont's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Whitesburg Christian Academy, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Devils have suffered since March 27th.
Elkmont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryant Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
East Limestone's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Elkmont, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 21-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. East Limestone has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Elkmont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
East Limestone skirted past Elkmont 2-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
