Preview: Winnsboro Raiders vs. Atlanta Rabbits
The Winnsboro Raiders will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Atlanta Rabbits at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Winnsboro put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 65-6 victory over Bonham. With Winnsboro ahead 55-3 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Atlanta made easy work of Tatum on Friday and carried off a 42-22 win. Atlanta pushed the score to 42-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Tatum cut but never quite recovered from.
Atlanta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Riley led the charge by picking up 109 receiving yards and a touchdown, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Peyton Harrison, who threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns.
Winnsboro pushed their record up to 9-0 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.09 points. As for Atlanta, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Winnsboro strolled past Atlanta in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 by a score of 28-14. Will Winnsboro repeat their success, or does Atlanta have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
