Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Chief Leschi came into Thursday's matchup looking for another win against Northwest Christian, but Dan Babber wouldn't allow it. The Northwest Christian Wolverines enjoyed a cozy 61-47 victory over the Chief Leschi Warriors on Thursday thanks in part to Babber, who went 11 of 21 on his way to 29 points in addition to six assists and six boards. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Vahey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave him a new career-high.

Northwest Christian's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Chief Leschi, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Northwest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-37 loss against Puget Sound Adventist on the 9th. As for Chief Leschi, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-19 defeat against Mount Vernon Christian on the 10th.
