Roswell is 8-2 against Lovington since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Coyotes will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Roswell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Last Saturday, Roswell narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Denver City 9-8.
Abey Tescano made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davian Dominguez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Roswell is 2-1 when Dominguez posts two or more runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Elias Lujan, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Roswell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lovington waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past Non Varsity Tournament Opponent 17-3. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.
Lovington also got a great performance from Josiah Gauna as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Mika Pando was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Ryan Wieser was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Roswell's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Lovington, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Roswell skirted past Lovington 8-7 in their previous matchup last Saturday. Do the Coyotes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
