Football Recap: Fairmont Prep Comes Up Short

Fairmont Prep fell victim to Newport Harbor and their airtight defense on Saturday. They were dealt a 33-0 loss at the hands of the Sailors. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Sailors are ranked third).

Newport Harbor found their leader in sophomore Scarlett Guyser, who threw for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of her passes.

Fairmont Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Newport Harbor, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Fairmont Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 29-0 win against Santiago on the 9th. As for Newport Harbor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-6 victory against Edison on the 8th.
