Baseball Recap: Ceres' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Ceres had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Johansen on Thursday. The Ceres Bulldogs put the hurt on the Johansen Vikings with a sharp 12-0 win. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Daniel Davis was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Six bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Anthony Trevino was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Ceres always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory (which was Ceres' fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Johansen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5-1.

Looking ahead, Ceres will head out to challenge Lathrop at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lathrop will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ceres surely won't give up without a fight. As for Johansen, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pacheco at 4:00 p.m. Johansen is facing Pacheco at the right time seeing as Pacheco is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
