Soccer Recap: Kearny Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Orange Glen

On Thursday, it was close, but the Kearny Komets sidestepped the Orange Glen Patriots for a 3-2 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Komets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Patriots are ranked 18th).

Kearny's victory bumped their record up to 3-1-3. As for Orange Glen, they moved to 5-1 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Kearny will welcome Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. As for Orange Glen, they will head out to square off against Pacific Ridge at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
