Football Game Preview: Notre Dame Jugglers vs. Herkimer Magicians

The Notre Dame Jugglers will head out on the road to challenge the Herkimer Magicians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Herkimer took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Notre Dame, who comes in off a win.

Notre Dame took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Cato-Meridian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jugglers had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 26-24. The victory was familiar territory for the Jugglers, who have now won three contests in a row.

It was another big night for D'Marco Santiago, who rushed for 178 yards and two scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 53 receiving yards. He is becoming a predictor of Notre Dame's success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Clyde Taylor, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Notre Dame was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Herkimer had to suffer through a 52-3 loss at the hands of Lowville. The matchup marked the Magicians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Herkimer has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Notre Dame, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
