Basketball Recap: Weston Ranch Starts Season with Win on the Road

Weston Ranch had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They pulled ahead with a 79-78 photo finish over the Oakland Wildcats on Saturday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 62-59 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Weston Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damarcus Cobb, who posted 27 points and five rebounds. Jerimyah Owens was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Weston Ranch and Oakland will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cougars see the court they'll take on Bakersfield Christian at 4:00 p.m. on December 4. As for Oakland, their break will end when they face San Marin at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
