Recap: Leo Lions vs. Mississinewa Indians
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Leo Lions had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Mississinewa on the road to the tune of 41-7. Winning may never get old, but Leo sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Leading Leo to victory were Kaden Hurst and Dearious Carter. Hurst rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, while Carter rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Another reason for the win was Leo's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Brock Schott was especially locked on to Mississinewa's QB and sacked him twice.
Leo pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Mississinewa, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1.
Leo will take on NorthWood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. NorthWood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Mississinewa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
