Rupp Arena — home of the unbeaten Kentucky Wildcats — hosted the KHSAA Sweet 16 over the weekend.

Forget about school size or enrollment — the event crowns a single high school basketball champion in Kentucky, a format unique to the Bluegrass State.

From tiny Red Bird (enrollment 56) to Scott County (enrollment 2,403), every high school in the state has its eyes on the same prize.

On a day where the beloved Wildcats met Cincinnati in the NCAA Tournament just up the road in Louisville, nearly 12,000 fans showed up Saturday as Owensboro ran away from Bowling Green, 74-58, for the state title.

Senior forward Aric Holman led the Red Devils with 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots in the final.

Getting to take the floor at Rupp Arena for the Sweet 16 is a dream for every high school player in Kentucky and it's easy to see why in the video above.
