Basketball Game Preview: Longview Lobos vs. Rockwall Yellowjackets

Longview hasn't had much luck against Rockwall recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Longview Lobos will look to defend their home court against the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. Longview will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Longview earned a 50-43 win over Whitehouse. Given the Lobos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Wildcats are ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jailiyah Rockmore, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Maya Ward, who scored six points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Rockwall's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 41-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Royse City. The Yellowjackets were up 26-9 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Rockwall's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Longview, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
