Soccer Game Preview: Severance vs. Cheyenne Mountain

The Severance Silver Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Cheyenne Mountain Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Severance's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Severance's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Berthoud 1-0. Severance's winning goal came courtesy of Emery Atwood.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Mountain faced Air Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Hawks fell 3-1 to the Kadets. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, Cheyenne Mountain couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cheyenne Mountain's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-2 and their overall record down to 8-4-3. As for Severance, their win bumped their record up to an identical 8-4-3.
