Basketball Recap: Pinecrest Academy Takes a Loss

Pinecrest Academy played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Valor Christian Lions 62-18. The defeat continues a trend for the Paladins in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valor Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Dean, who posted five points along with eight assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyla Hughes, who put up 11 points and six boards.

Pinecrest Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-4. As for Valor Christian, their win was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Pinecrest Academy has already played their next game, a 42-21 victory against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Valor Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-39 win against Furtah Prep on the 15th.
