On Tuesday Ava Mordecai pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit, which was good enough to set a new career-low in earned runs. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her fourth in a row with less than one walk. This season, she has an ERA of 3.07 over 13.7 innings pitched.

Even though Mordecai couldn't lead New Hope over Lafayette, she won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, Mordecai's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Trojans' nine-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Mordecai and the Trojans surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Thursday's match.
