Soccer Recap: Spring Starts off Right with Win over Cesar E. Chavez

Spring gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cesar E. Chavez Lobos an 8-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Emily Mendez as she scored five goals for her team.

Cesar E. Chavez is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Spring will be taking part in a tournament against Sam Rayburn at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cesar E. Chavez, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lamar at 4:30 p.m. on January 28th.
