Softball Recap: Streator Bulldogs vs. LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers        
        
		
            
 Streator came into Wednesday's   game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers  7-6. The  win was just what Streator needed coming off of  a  14-7 defeat in their prior  match.
  Makenna Ondrey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   eight  hits. Ondrey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  pitched less than five  innings every time she's  pitched this season. Ondrey was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Mya Zavada was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Lily Kupec, who  scored a  run and  stole a base.
 Streator  made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-2. As for LaSalle-Peru, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
 Streator has the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Herscher at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for LaSalle-Peru, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Normal University at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday.
