Fernley extends road winning streak to 13

Recap: Fernley Vaqueros vs. Dayton Dust Devils

The Fernley Vaqueros stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 54-9 win over Dayton. The win was nothing new for Fernley as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Fernley was led to victory by Jaelece Wasson and Taylor Tollestrup. Wasson scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals, while Tollestrup dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tollestrup hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiserita Otuafi, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Fernley's victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.46 points. As for Dayton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fernley will challenge Elko at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Elko will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Fernley is ranked fourth). As for Dayton, they will head out on the road to square off against Spring Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
