Softball Recap: Bishop Manogue Wins Going Away Against Galena

Bishop Manogue got themselves on the board against Galena on Thursday, but Galena never followed suit. They blew past the Grizzlies 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Miners in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won seven in a row.

Kaylee Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Sanchez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Sammi Boggs looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Lexi Bonanno was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Trella Springman, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.

Bishop Manogue hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 13 consecutive games.

Bishop Manogue's victory bumped their record up to 14-8-1. As for Galena, they dropped their record down to 7-16-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
